User Permissions A list of users is displayed in the Navigation grid. Permissions Role : Allows access to the system via a
sequence of menus which are tailored by Role PC Work: the temporary folder for saved PC
files (e.g. .csv files) Selected groups: A list of groups the user is in , used for the Diary and lists. Default codes: These are the default company
codes for the user. The various programs will start in the default company but
the company may be changed as required. Email Address: The senders email address (reply
to) when using the Email functions in the system, |

User Access Control Roles and Permissions The roles control access to the various menus,
programs, tabs and notes within the Mercury system. The default for new menu items (programs is NO ACCESS).
A new menu
item will be shown as unregistered click
the register icon to register the new menu item and then allow access to the
appropriate roles. Programs and Features The System grid displays the complete Mercury menu to
allow programs to be allowed or denied access for the selected role. Select a menu item (designated by a >) and click the
actions icon. This allows a global setting
for the menu item highlighted. Deny/Allow All for all items in the selected menu Deny/Allow Access for all items in the selected menu Deny/Allow Add for all items in the selected menu Deny/Allow Change for all items in the selected
menu Deny/Allow Delete for all items in the selected
menu Deny/Allow Global for all items in the selected
menu (global updates may be in a later Mercury release) Click on a program line to display
the options available in the second grid. The options will include the tabs
and icons in the program selected, Most programs will have a simple access or
no access. The example shown has many tabs /sub tabs and icons. Tick/un-tick the top line overall control to change that column. Tick/un-tick the detailed lines as
required to set the access for this role. The permissions allowed Deny/Allow Access Deny/Allow Add Deny/Allow Change Deny/Allow Delete Deny/Allow Global (global updates may be in a later

User Access Control Roles and Permissions Topics/Sections Topics are for the Information notes and Sections for
the Files. The default is NO ACCESS for new topics and sections. Clicking the top line will tick/un-tick all items in
that group. Individually set the Topics and Sections a role can
view. If access is denied then the role will not see notes and files for the
topic/section denied. The Actual permissions for add change
and delete for notes and files are controlled under Programs and Features |

User Access Control Groups Groups are used in the Diary and List functions so
actions or dairy entries are applicable to a group of users. A user may be in
more than 1 group. The groups required a code and a description. The left
hand grid shows the current groups and allow
selection of a group. The second grid show users in the selected group. |

Company
code:
The main Member Administration company code. Prompt: No longer used. University
CD:
Oxford or Cambridge college Def.
College Address ID:
The address that holds the default college address. Photo
Path:
The name of the Folder that holds the member Photos. Photo
Code:
The Member photos may be accessed by University card office id or Member
Number. Age
Indicator:
The Member’s ages may be maintained daily. Last
Updated:
Information only Resident
Flag Updated:
If a member is allocated a room the member’s resident flag is set, this is
for information only. |
